FOSTERING 101

BASIC CARE
Feed, walk, and love your foster dog daily. Be patient and know that accidents may happen as your foster dog acclimates to their new environment.

BEHAVIORAL EVALUATION
Help BarkVille assess your foster dog's temperament around children, adults, different animals, and other dogs. Be aware of any behavioral concerns.

ADOPTION EVENTS
Attend as many adoption events as possible. We hold events every Saturday and BarkVille asks that you try to attend at least two events every month.

TRAINING
Housebreaking & crate training if necessary. Working with your dog on basic commands such as "sit", "stay", "down", etc.

PREVENTATIVES
Administer monthly heartworm and flea prevention medicine. All preventatives are provided to you by BarkVille.

POTENTIAL ADOPTERS
Speak to potential adopters about your foster dog! Ask your friends and family if they are interested in adopting! Facilitate meet & greets and provide feedback on whether the adopter is a good fit.

EXERCISE
Walk your dog and provide physical and mental stimulation. This will challenge your foster dog & drain his or her energy levels.

TRANSPORTATION
Transport your foster dog to necessary vet appointments for vaccines, treatments, follow ups, etc. All appointments are scheduled by BarkVille.
