Pittie & Parson Russell Terrier Mix
Pete is a playful, intelligent Pittie mix who is 2 years old and weighs 70 lbs. He is a happy, friendly, obedient boy with medium energy and good leash manners (he walks nicely on the leash and likes to stay next to his person). He was the longest resident at a rural GA shelter when a BarkVille volunteer saw him and offered to foster him so BarkVille could save him. When Pete first left the shelter he was frightened of everybody & everything, would not walk on a leash, and had to be picked up to go outside. He has come a LONG WAY since then, but is still scared of brooms, mops, rakes and will cower if you raise your hand. He has been working daily with his foster family to overcome his fears and although he is still a little timid and shy with new people, he loves to give hugs, go for car rides, run around outside, and play with all the other dogs in his foster home. He is looking for a home with a fenced yard where he can play outside with his people and his dog friends. He is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, fully vaccinated & microchipped. He was HW+ when he came to BarkVille and is currently available for a foster to adopt situation until his HW treatment is complete and he is medically cleared for adoption. If you are not familiar with Heartworm disease, dogs get it from mosquitos and it is not contagious. It is easily prevented & highly treatable, but requires extended rest during treatment.
