Jem is an inspiring & deserving Lab/Hound mix who is 7 years old and weighs 85 lbs. He was found near death on the side of the road and many of his teeth were ground down & chipped. He was ultimately diagnosed with anemia, mange, heartworms, a soft-tissue mass on his back, and a heart murmur. Despite his horrific condition, Jem wagged his tail and showed nothing but love to the good samaritans who rescued him. In the months since his arrival at BarkVille Dog Rescue, Jem has made great strides toward full recovery. He is currently in a wonderful foster home where he eats well, gets as many treats as he wants, and is regaining his strength & getting healthier everyday! His foster mom says he is a sweet, gentle, affectionate boy who enjoys being out in the yard and has a playful, happy trot when he's feeling energetic.
Jem no longer has mange or anemia and his heart murmur has disappeared. His soft tissue mass was removed and he is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, fully vaccinated & microchipped. He will start heartworm treatment in December and will be ready for his forever home once he is fully recovered in February 2020.
