Harper
Harper is a beautiful, intelligent Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix who is 6 years old and weighs 50 lbs. She came into BarkVille as a new mom with 2 pups, but while her puppies were quickly adopted, poor Harper was left behind and has yet to find her loving, forever home! She is a sweet, affectionate, low-medium energy girl who loves treats, car rides, and getting belly rubs from her people. Her trainer and her foster mom think that Harper would be an ideal first dog because she is calm, obedient, and very easy to manage. Her ideal home will be adults only because she's a middle aged gal and young children/chaos make her anxious. She is looking for a quiet, laid back environment with a person/family who want a loyal, devoted companion to share all their adventures with. Her tail wags nonstop when she is engaged with her humans and everyone she meets in public is her new best friend! She can co-exist with dogs that are laid back like she is, but she does not like bouncy, young, energetic dogs in her face. She is nonreactive to dogs walking by and would never approach another dog - she just does her own thing and ignores them. She often goes to Petco, Home Depot and hiking with her foster family and shows no reactions at all to other dogs around her. She has awesome leash manners (heels, never pulls), is a pro at basic commands, and always does everything her foster mom asks. She has no separation anxiety and can be trusted alone in the house while her family is at work (her foster mom says Harper is too lazy to be destructive). Her perfect day is spent pleasing her humans, curling up beside them, and laying her head in their laps. She loves her crate and sleeps soundly in it for 9 hours overnight. Her foster mom says they often have to wake her up in the morning! She is housebroken, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
