Boris is a playful, affectionate Pittie/Boxer mix who is 3 years old and weighs 75 lbs. This beautiful boy came to BarkVille in critical condition, severely emaciated, with an acute respiratory infection, MRSA in his lungs, and Heartworm disease. He spent 2 months in a ventilation kennel at the vet and has a huge scar around the bottom of his neck from an embedded chain. Fortunately, once he was well enough to leave the vet, BarkVille was able to place him in a wonderful foster home where he has reached a healthy weight and is regaining his confidence every day. He LOVES to play with other dogs and is very submissive. He is a high energy boy who is making up for lost time by enjoying as much playtime as he can get with both dogs & his humans everyday. His leash manners are a work in progress, but he is super smart and lets his family know when he needs to go outside. He is a friendly, fun loving boy with a giant head who is looking for an active family to share new adventures with. Fyi, he is not a fan of the vacuum cleaner or of being in his crate.
Boris is still receiving HW treatment so he is only available for a foster-to-adopt situation until his HW treatment is complete and he is medically cleared for adoption. If you are not familiar with Heartworm disease, it is NOT contagious; dogs get it from mosquitos. It is highly treatable, but requires extended rest during treatment.
